About  Dr. (Maj. Gen.) Dharmesh S. Swaroop

Dr. (Maj. Gen.) Dharmesh is a distinguished Medical Oncologist with over 30 years of experience in medicine, oncology, and hospital leadership. A graduate of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, he completed his MBBS in 1988 and MD in General Medicine in 1996, before earning his DM in Medical Oncology from the Cancer Institute, Adyar, Chennai in 2006. He further trained at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, gaining expertise in managing complex cancer cases. His career began as a Medical Officer in field hospitals across Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir, followed by service with the Indian Medical Team in Central Asia, where he provided vital care in demanding environments.

Following his oncology specialization, Dr. Dharmesh served in senior roles at leading Armed Forces hospitals, including Command Hospitals in Lucknow and Pune, and Army Hospital (R&R), New Delhi, where he was Senior Advisor in Medicine and Oncology and later Head of the Multi-Disciplinary Tumor Clinic (MDTC). He also held the position of Commandant at the 590-bedded Military Hospital, Jodhpur, leading one of the premier multi-speciality healthcare facilities of the Armed Forces. Known for his expertise in comprehensive cancer care, chemotherapy, and multidisciplinary treatment planning, Dr. Dharmesh combines clinical excellence with a compassionate, patient-centered approach, while also mentoring the next generation of doctors and strengthening oncology services nationwide.
