About Dr. Alok Sehgal

Dr. Alok Sehgal is a dynamic and dedicated cardiologist, having more than 20 years of experience in the medical field. He has worked with a number of distinguished cardiologists in various hospitals. Dr. Sehgal pursued his D.M. in cardiology from the most prestigious institution of India, CMC Vellore.

Dr. Sehgal's aim is to continue his work in the field of clinical cardiology and cardiac intervention and gain a wider experience with a special interest in intravascular imaging-guided intervention. He has over 15 years of work experience in cardiology having worked at several prominent institutions in the department of cardiology such as Christian Medical College, Vellore, Escorts Heart Institute & Research Centre, Delhi and SGPGI Lucknow. He performs more than 150 angioplasties and over 500 diagnostic cardiac procedures annually. He specializes in all kinds of diagnostic peripheral vascular diseases, cardiac catheterization and angiographic studies on adults and children spanning the spectrum of congenital, rheumatic, coronary and peripheral arterial disease.

Apart from diagnostic procedures, Dr. Sehgal is also proficient in performing a wide range of interventional procedures such as primary angioplasty, balloon angioplasty, intracoronary stenting, chronic total occlusion recanalization, bifurcation stenting, left main stenting and angioplasty with intra-aortic balloon pump support. He specializes in primary PTCA and intravascular image-guided coronary intervention and also in a number of paediatric interventions like device closure of artrial septal defect and patent ductus arteriosus, non-coronary interventions like coil embolization (tumor, bronchial artery & renal artery), pericardiocentesis and electrophysiology (permanent pacemaker & ICD implantation single chamber & dual-chamber). He is also proficient in temporary pacing, programing and analysis of permanent pacemaker function.
