About  Dr. Prasanna R. Arumugaswamy

Dr. Prasanna Ramana Arumugaswamy is a highly accomplished Minimal Access, Bariatric, and Robotic Surgeon trained at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, where he has spent over eight years mastering advanced surgical techniques. He holds an MBBS, MS in General Surgery, and MCh in Minimal Access and General Surgery, and is currently completing a specialized Fellowship in Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery at AIIMS. Dr. Arumugaswamy has extensive expertise in laparoscopic and robotic bariatric surgery, metabolic surgery for diabetes, hepatobiliary surgery, upper GI and colorectal procedures, hernia repair, breast and endocrine surgery, vascular access surgeries, and thoracic procedures including VATS. He has independently performed complex open and minimally invasive surgeries in both elective and emergency settings and has hands-on experience with the Da Vinci robotic system. A nationally ranked surgeon (Rank 1 in AIIMS MCh entrance), he is the recipient of multiple prestigious awards including honors from EAES, IAGES, ASICON, and IFSO-APC, and has authored more than 15 indexed publications in reputed international journals such as Surgical Endoscopy and Obesity Surgery. He also serves as a reviewer for leading surgical journals and has presented research at major global forums. Known for his academic rigor, leadership as Chief Resident, and patient-centric approach, Dr. Arumugaswamy combines surgical precision with evidence-based practice to deliver optimal outcomes in complex general and metabolic surgical care.
