Dr. P. L. Kariholu is the medical director, Yashoda Hospital & Research Centre. Having completed his MBBS in 1975, Dr. Kariholu went on to pursue his MS (General Surgery) from Government Medical College & SMHS Hospital, Srinagar in 1978. Apart from this, he has also been trained in Surgical Oncology from the very prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. Between 1978-1990, Dr. P. L. Kariholu worked as Lecturer & Assistant Professor at Government Medical College & SMHS Hospital, Srinagar. Thereafter, he worked as Professor & HOD Surgery & subsequently Principal of B.M. Patil Medical College, Karnataka. Besides this, Dr. Kariholu has also worked as Professor of Surgery & Medical Superintendent & subsequently, the Dean of School of Medical Sciences/Research & later as Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Sharda University, Greater Noida.
With constant learning as his passion, Dr. P. L. Kariholu keeps himself updated with all latest technologies. This is evident from his training in laparoscopic surgery from Bangalore in 2000.
Apart from his academic brilliance, Dr. P. L. Kariholu also got elected twice as Member of Medical Council of India (MCI) from Karnataka University & subsequently, from Sharda University. He was given life-time achievement award in Medical Education by MCI and also by Indian Medical Association. He has also worked as Chairman of UG & PG studies in several universities in the speciality of general surgery, besides being the advisor to Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi in general surgery from time to time. With more than 42 years of experience, he has published more than 65 papers in both national & international journals.
