What Are The Different Types Of Uro-Oncological Procedures?

The following cancer operations are performed here:

• Radical, Simple and Partial Nephrectomy: A surgical procedure to remove the kidney, adrenal gland, surrounding tissues and usually, nearby lymph nodes affected by cancer.
• Radical Nephro-Ureterectomy: It involves a minimally invasive surgical procedure to remove the renal pelvis, kidney and if required the entire ureter, along with the bladder cuff. The surgery is performed to remove the area affected by transitional cell cancer.
• Radical Cystectomy: Involves laparoscopic removal of the bladder, or part of the bladder with neo-bladder reconstruction, to treat bladder cancer.
• Radical Prostatectomy: Involves laparoscopic removal of the prostate gland to treat prostate cancer.
• Total or Partial Penectomy With Inguinal Lymph Node Dissection: The surgery is performed to cure the patients of penile cancer. A patient has to undergo MIS where the cancerous part of the penis is removed.
• Radical Orchiectomy: It is a minimally-invasive treatment procedure used to treat patients with testicular cancer. The lymph nodes of the retroperitoneum affected by cancer are removed from the testicles.
• Retroperitoneal Lymph Node Dissection: It offers therapeutic treatment for urologic malignancies. It involves an MIS that is performed to remove the lymph nodes in the back of the abdomen (retroperitoneum).
• Open and Laparoscopic Surgery: Laparoscopic surgery, also referred to as keyhole surgery, is considered to be minimally invasive. In laparoscopic surgery, several incisions of a one-quarter inch or less are used. In more conventional open surgery, a single incision, inches long or more, is made by the surgeon to access the abdomen.
