Dr. (Col.) Satish Mendonca has completed his M.D. in Internal Medicine and D.M. in Nephrology from the highly reputed Armed Forces Medical College, Pune and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. From 1997-2007, he served in the Indian Army in various capacities.
During his tenure as Associate Professor of Medicine & Nephrology at the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College & Command Hospital, Pune, he was regularly involved in the teaching of both undergraduate and post-graduate students. Posted as Head of Department, Nephrology at the Army Hospital (R & R), New Delhi, he played an active role in dealing with complicated and referred cases from all over India and routinely performed renal transplants including ABO incompatible transplants. He was also the Director of the Armed Forces Organ Retrieval and Transplantation Authority (AORTA).
Besides this, Dr. (Col.) Satish Mendonca has worked as an examiner at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Delhi University and West Bengal Health Services (WBHS) University, etc. He has also reviewed various journals such as the Saudi Journal of Kidney Diseases & Transplantation, Medical Journal of the Armed Forces India (MJAFI), Seminars in Dialysis, Clinical Rheumatology and Renal Disease.
