Depending upon <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the size of the tumor, this stage is further classified into Stage IA and Stage IB. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stage IA- The size of the tumour in this stage is smaller or equal to 2 cm. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stage IB- The size of the tumour in this stage is larger than 2 cm but less than 4 cm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Stage II- <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Depending upon the size of the tumour and where the cancer has spread, this stage is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">categorized into Stage IIA and Stage IIB. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stage IIA- The size of the tumour in this stage is larger than 4 cm. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stage IIB- The size of the tumour in this stage may be of any size and may have travelled to 1-3<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">closer lymph nodes. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Stage III- <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this stage, the tumour may be of any size and may have spread to 4 or more closer <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lymph nodes or to the major blood vessels near the pancreas. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Stage IV- <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this stage, the tumour may be of any size while the cancer has travelled to other <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">parts of the body such as lungs, liver or the peritoneal cavity, the cavity that contains most of the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">organs in the abdomen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the stage is determined by the doctor, the treatment of pancreatic cancer is designed. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2>What are treatment options for pancreatic cancer?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Treatment of pancreatic cancer depends on the type of cancer one has, its stage and size. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Specialists at <\/span><b>Yashoda Superspeciality Hospital &amp; Cancer Institute, Sanjay Nagar, <\/b><b><\/b><b>Ghaziabad, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">use top-class technology and advanced machines to treat cancer. This may include biliary bypass that is done when bile keeps building up<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the gallbladder because the bile duct is blocked by cancer or may include endoscopic stent <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">placement in which surgery is done to place a thin tube, known as stent, to extract the bile that <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has developed in the area while the bile duct is blocked by the tumour. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Palliative surgery may also include gastric bypass when the flow of food from the stomach is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">blocked by the tumour.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Radiation Therapy- <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this treatment, high doses of energy waves are targeted to the site of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cancer in order to destroy the cancer cells or prevent their growth. This may include external <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">radiation therapy that is done from outside the body using advanced machines or may include <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">brachytherapy in which radiation is placed inside the body through a source. <\/span><b>Chemotherapy- <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this treatment, drugs are used to hinder the growth of cancer cells, aiding in<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">their destruction. Drugs may be given via veins in the arm or through pill form or both.
